The New Man - Your New Nature

Ezekiel 26:26-29 Says God has given new heart and new spirit and He has removed stony heart.
He has put his spirit within us and cause to walk in his statutes.
The end result of his Spirit working in us is the Fruit of the Spirit as mentioned in Gala 5:22-25.
Redemption provides means for God to gives us new nature. Jesus is the firstborn among many brethren.

Old Nature been Crucified
Gala 5:24 They that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lust. So our old nature is crucified with Christ .

New Nature been deposited
Gala 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Why we are not acting even though we are living in the Spirit?
Enemy try to cover up the new nature with old works. Old man tries to live on through the actions. Old man is dead, that’s the reality.
When Jesus is risen, he left the Grave clothes on the tomb. The Grave clothes don’t have any relation to the resurrection power.

Colossians 3:1-5 tells us the truth in 3 steps.
1)     If ye are risen with Christ (Past), seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
· We are seated together with Christ
· Kingdom of God is moving forward putting everything under Jesus’ feet
· Things of Earth are temporal value
· Set your mind on things above - see things from Christ perspective. We no need to be absorbed with the things in front of us.
2)     Real you is hidden in Christ - our real life is in Christ (Present)
3)     When Christ appear, ye will also appear in glory (Future)

What is the process going on right now?
As said in II Cor 3:18 When we read the book and see Jesus in every page, we are transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.

REST

Devotion – REST

This devotion is entirely based on reading plan on the Bible App called: “SCARED REST – 5 DAY READING PLAN” If you want to read it, please find it on the Bible app or find the book about Sacred Rest: Recover Your Life, Renew Your Energy, Restore Your Sanity by Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith [LINK: http://ichoosemybestlife.com/sacred-rest/]

v CONSUMING FIRE

There should be a “Get Out of Your Responsibilities” card you can play on those days when life is just too difficult, days when everything within you wants a moment simply to be still. Peace comes in many forms. Sometimes we don’t have time for a long, drawn-out me-time ritualistic activities. No mani-pedi. No hot tea and biscuits. No caramel macchiato. No Dead Sea salt–infused bath.  If I’m completely honest, I’m to blame for this storm. I created it. I fueled it. I continually recruit and pull others into it with me. I didn’t mean to do it. It is just a reality of the life I created.

You see, I’m a doer. If I’m not doing something, I’m wasting my time. At least that is what I thought, until a few years ago when I found myself looking up from a compromising position into the face of my smug husband asking, “What in the world are you doing on the floor?” Only one answer came to mind— burning.

The image that came to mind was that of kindling being consumed by fire. I was the kindling. I was burned out, and the life I had created was consuming all I held valuable. But on this day, I was kindling being consumed by an eternal fire. A fire with the power to destroy the heaviness of busyness and ignite a hunger to draw nearer to the sacred sanctuary of rest.

v  GIVE IT A REST
In Isaiah 30: 12– 15, God is talking to the people about the many promises He has told them to expect in their lives. Great promises they have yet to see. The delays have made them skeptical of His faithfulness. The hard times have made them question His love. He explains to them it is not by His choice they have not seen the promises fulfilled; it is by their choices.

His reply as I interpreted it: “You would rather trust in a system that has been driving you into the ground and rely on that system more than you would like to rely on My way of doing things. That’s why you’re in the situation you’re in now. the solution is to return to resting, in order to be  you saved, in quietness and trust shall be your strength. But you are unwilling. You are unwilling to do the simple. You resist doing what should come naturally. You would rather do that which is hard. You would rather struggle than rest. You would rather work under a sense of obligation than learn how to surrender to peace. You would rather fight for every blessing rather than trust goodness is following you. You would rather see it before you believe it. You are afraid of rest.”

It’s time to stop trying to fulfill every promise by our blood, sweat, and tears. It’s time to go back to the beginning when rest was required, when rest was sacred. When quietness was not a weakness and trust was not something to fear. Where we saw them for what they truly are, needed ingredients in a life worth living. Return to rest, quietness, and trust as a deer returns to a stream. Return to the source of your strength, and in doing so, you will be saved.

v SWEET SLEEP

Have you ever tried to fix your chronically tired self by purposely sleeping a few extra hours on the weekend, only to wake up feeling like you’ve never rested at all? You had great intentions, but missed one vital piece of the puzzle: Sleep is not rest. As different parts of an intricate system, sleep and rest are designed to work together to ensure every part of you has a way to regenerate and be restored.

When I was in college, I could sleep like a baby. The second my head hit the pillow I’d be out. In medical school, I started having trouble falling asleep. At first, it took five to ten minutes before I could go to sleep. Now it can take up to an hour when I lie down at night.”
“Wow, an hour. As tired as you are at the end of a shift, I would have thought you’d fall asleep quickly,” I mused.
“I know, right? But that’s the thing; good sleep is gentle. It comes in quietly, descends upon you, and replenishes you. Bad sleep comes in like a flood, overtakes you, and leaves you feeling spent. It’s the good I’m missing.”

Sleep is a biological necessity. Trying to omit it will slow your productivity and eventually kill you. In an attempt to check this life function off our to-do list every night, many of us have settled for sleep at any cost and of any quality. Our problem isn’t simply a need for more sleep. Our problem is that we are missing the good. Sleep is different from rest, but good-quality sleep trickles down from a life well rested. We may sleep in response to rest, but resting doesn’t require us to be in a state of sleep. Sometimes as my friend confessed, sleep is not restful at all. Then there are also those times when even with a lack of sleep, we surprisingly feel rested and ready to tackle the day. The deciding factor is the difference between good sleep and bad sleep.

There has to be a bridge between good and bad sleep, and that bridge is rest. Sleep is solely a physical activity. Rest, however, penetrates into the spiritual. Rest speaks peace into the daily storms your mind, body, and spirit encounter. Rest is what makes sleep sweet.

v A SECOND CHANCE

The sacredness of rest remains even when we refuse to acknowledge it. The need to break away, for the body to have periods of peace, is rooted in our anatomy. We must have opportunities to heal. The mind must have a reprieve from thinking. The body needs rest from movement. Emotions need a release. The senses desire to be quieted. We need the social grace to find rest in another. Our soul yearns to soak in the created beauty around it, and our spirit calls for a relationship with the holy.

Healing occurs when we allow ourselves the time, space, and grace to be in the presence of God in the middle of our busy lives. Rest causes you to be still and seek to know God. It calls for you to look deeper at yourself and your surroundings. It forces you to stop.

We often view life as if looking through the window of a speeding car. Rest, rather, implores you to slow down and fully live. Rest is not simply pushing the pause button on your day. Rest is not merely taking a break. Rest is about replenishing, restoring, renewing, recovering, rebuilding, regenerating, remolding, and repairing. Rest begins with the prefix re- because it requires us to go back to a prior state. It is a second chance. It’s an opportunity to put back in order anything that has shifted out of alignment with God’s best.

v  REDEFINE REST

All rest is not created equal. Much of what we consider rest fails to work because it is not restful. Shifting our activities or changing the location of where we are active is no more restful than doing those same activities at home. The most effective rest occurs when we are purposefully reviving the parts of our life we regularly deplete.

Your body needs physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, sensory, and creative rest. Omit any one of these, and you will feel the consequences of the resulting rest deficit.
So what kind of tired are you?
example; (conclusion)
If you awake full of energy every morning and are dragging by the afternoon, you may be missing adequate physical rest to sustain your day. If you get out of bed tired in the morning and then become energized as the day progresses, you may be experiencing creative restlessness. And if you experience an overall lack of meaning and fulfillment, a spiritual or emotional rest deficit may be to blame. Understanding which type of rest you are deficient in is critical to correcting this imbalance.
If your job is mentally draining but physically undemanding, physical rest will fail to leave you feeling rested. Mental rest is what’s required to bring your mental reservoir back to a healthy level. If you spend most of your day staring at a bright computer screen or hearing constant noise, your body will need sensory rest to feel renewed. If your circumstances cause you to struggle with faith and the meaning of life, your soul will desire spiritual rest to return to a place of peaceful contentment. For every depleting activity in your day, there is a counter reviving activity to balance the scales.

Take a moment identify your rest deficits. Complete the personal rest deficit assessment you’ll find here. It ’s important you take an introspective look at your current state. Doing so will allow you to see immediately which types of rest you need to focus on getting and which types you already excel at obtaining. [LINK:

Mothers of faith.

As we are in a season of remembering women who love us and have poured into us... and celebrating the joy and privilege of being a mother ... I thought we'd look at two women this morning. Both were great women of faith.

Let's look at 2 Kings 4... we've all read and reread this passage....we've heard messages and so this is a familiar topic. A few weeks ago our pastor spoke on this very passage. It stuck with me and it kept stirring in me.

Woman of faith 1... The widow

We read she was a wife of a prophet. He was a scholar who taught at a learning centre or bible college of that time. So she was a godly woman..she followed the precepts of god. She was a woman who loved God and all the things that came with being a woman of God. She served along side her husband. Today are you and me too women who love God and we are serving God like we should be?

She was a woman who spoke Highly of her husband... "you know he revered God". How are we honoring our spouses? We need to portray them with honour and respect. They are the head of our houses and priests of our home.

She was a mother....of 2 boys.... both old enough to be put to work. She had poured her life into making these babies into men of God. She nurtured them and loved on them. She's given her all to her husband and her boys...then her husband passes away....very untimely. They both lived a honest godly life...leaving them in debt... ..shes running on empty.... Are we pouring everything into raising our family.... motherhood is a full time calling... it's a calling of heavenly proportions....its not just one person we're impacting...its generations after us.... are we feeling empty? Are we running on empty? I feel most often I'm unappreciated... I'm giving giving giving...im repaid with a hug, a sloppy kiss and messy but beautiful smile. I'm empty...I don't how long I can carry till I blow my gasket. Anyone relate to it?

she has sold every possession to pay off the debt...she sold her valuables...her household stuff... her nic nax.... still she finds herself in debt...her efforts were just not enough to save her boys.. her boys are to be taken as slaves to pay off the debt.
Do we feel at times we're doing everything possible yet our outcome is quite the opposite?

It's easy as mothers to feel dry...exhausted...feel like I'm not doing enough or I'm running on dry not getting any return.... hang in there my sister....this message is for you....

We see in 2 Kings 4 that the prophet hears her plea.... same way when we run to our heavenly father He hears us and he sees our desperation, our fears, our inadequacy and our need....

The prophet asked her what do you have... instead of what can I do for you.... God will always use the resources you already have to use you. She looked around and said just a jar of oil.... you may think.. I'm just a stay at home mom, I'm just an average mom, i just this and I'm just that.... He sees something you oversee. He sees potential, catalyst for change... don't sell yourselves short...

The prophet asked her to get jars from neighbors....... they acted in faith she didn't fight or question she did it with implicit obedience. When God asks us to do something are we meandering or are we acting in faith and obedience?

She and her boys fetched jars... then they were instructed to shut the door.... why do you think they were instructed that...because those nosey neighbors were doubters... they knew this family's situation...she probably borrowed from them and was debated to them too...they probably were mocking at her audacity to hope. Today you and I are faced with the same kind of people. They could be family members, friends, our church peeps.... when God calls you and gives you an assignment you shut yourself behind the doors. Your job is to be in tune with your master...shut that closet door...cause when you shut the noise of the world out...you are in tune and on the same frequency as The Miracle worker. The miracles start flowing... He will start to fill you, even those places nobody knows about...the anointing and blessing will fill you and start to overflow. He meets your need and some more... it's enough for you and your family and enough to pay off every negative thought you were debted to!

Sometimes as mothers we need to remember that Hes working on us... Hes fashioning you to be a masterpiece.... sometimes the Lord empties us out before He can fill us again.... He needs your emptiness, your nothingness, your licking dry gas tank to show off His awesomeness.
If we are not emptied out...His doing in us is adultrated, it's not perfect..He needs an empty jar to fill you up again.
That's why Paul says " in my weakness his strength was was made strong".
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Woman of faith 2 Shunnamite woman.

2 kings 4

There was a notable shunnamite woman. This woman was quite the opposite of the widow we saw earlier. She was a woman from a wealthy means. She was married and she had everything she could possibly need. Unlike the widow she offered the prophet food and rest. She needed nothing from him.

She honoured God and the men of God. She asked her husband to build a guest room upstairs for the prophet. Here we see again a contrast to the previous story. There she was emptied out before she recieved her blessing. Here in this passage we see the shunnamite woman...was creating or making additional room for her blessing. After she built the room she invited the prophet to stay, eat and rest. Elisha instructed Gehazi to call her and asks her what do you want me to do for you.... opposite to the widow who hunted him down and put her petition...here the prophet is asking her what can I do for you?

When we make room to honour God and servants of God... you don't have to run helter skelter to make your petition known...God will send someone to enquire after you. God will provide even before you know theres a need.

He asks if I should speak to the king for you? Jesus has already become the mediator for us...he speaks to His father the King of Kings. Talk about Influence.... when we honour God... influence comes looking for us.

Or should I talk to the commander in chief? Protection.... when we honour God...He becomes our commander in chief. Ps 91:11 says" For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;" isn't that something.

Isaiah 54:17 says
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of theLord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

She did it not expecting anything in return...no ulterior motives. She did it because she loved God. It was Gehazi who told Elisha she had no children. She made no request of the prophet. Are we content with our circumstances like this shunnamite woman. Can we say it is well with my soul? Or are we bickering I don't have this, I want that, can you and I say I have not one petition just praise and adoration for the Adonai?

The prophet called her and blessed her saying next year you will be with child. God knows your deepest and most pressing need. He knows your anguish and aching. He is Elrohi! He is a God who sees! He is Jehovah Jireh! He provides. Did he not provide for Abraham? Did He not come through for Hannah? He will come through for you and me.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly. (Ps. 84:11)

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Mt. 6:33)

We read the woman had a child and hes a young boy...the child suddenly takes I'll. He dies in his mothers arms. What would you and I do? Go beserk...that's what! Go off on a mad rant about did I ask God for a child? did I ask he be taken prematurely? etc ladi da! She didn't even tell her husband....she laid the boy on the prophets bed, shut the door and went in haste to the prophet. Even when Gehazi asked she said everything was well. It's only when she found the prophet and fell at his feet.... are you and I discerning about who we share our secrets, burdens, dreams, calling with? Don't share with everyone... everyone does not understand your calling and gifting.

When your are in the centre of Gods plan... He raises people to stand in the gap for you...Elisha knew she was in distress...even before she said cause he says the Lord didnt reveal the reason just her bitterness was know.

She clung on to the prophet saying I wont leave you.... are you and I clinging on to God? I'm not leaving you until you act Lord. Persistence is key in our faith walk.

When you and I make room for God, the supernatural starts to manifest...we start to move from natural to supernatural.... though Gehazi went with the rod to the boy...it was not until Elisha shut himself in and prayed and lay down on him a second time that a dead situation came back to life. Today there maybe situations, people, dreams, Hope's, calling etc that you have shoved somewhere in the back.... today God is asking you to lay that dead thing at the altar... shut the door and pray and God will bring that back to life in Jesus name!

Today we saw 2 women ... 2 different situations.... 2 mothers pleading for the saving of their sons. One was emptied in order to receive her blessing another made room to receive her blessing. As mothers let's examine our lives...what needs to be emptied out so new blessings can start to flow in and let's search and make room for the God of Supernatural to work in and through us. Amen

RISE UP

RISE UP
Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor’. (Isa. 52:1).
To Awake = Rising up from your present circumstances to something glorious with the
Garments of Splendor = Garment of Salvation & The Robe of Righteousness.
The meditation is about
FOR WHAT ONE SHOULD RISE UP
1. RISE UP TO YOUR CALLING :
The captain yelled at Jonah “What meanest thou, O sleeper? Rise up” (Jonah1:6).
Jonah ran away from his calling so he faced hardships.  Similarly, each of us have a divine calling. Let’s ponder if we are we running towards or away from our calling. Let’s not sleep but determine to Renew & Rise up to our calling.
Elijah was frustrated and he lay down a broom tree and slept (I Kings 19:5). God woke him up saying “what business he had there”. The destination, the calling, Elijah had to reach was far away. So, God Himself woke him up and made him continue to run for God. So too let’s ask the Lord the persistence to stay in our calling.
Jerusalem was asked to put on the beautiful garments. Because she wasted all her precious time, dust had spread over her.
The dust symbolizes the heart that is bondaged, losing all Spiritual strength.  If we wake up and rise today, God is powerful to break all our chains that hinder our blessings.

2. RISE  UP TO YOUR FIRST LOVE :
“I will Rise Up & go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.” (Luke 15:18).
The Prodigal Son, spent lavishly & finally ended up as a laborer to graze the swines. Swines symbolize backsliding.  Just, as he resolved to go back to his father, to his first love, may we determine to return to the early love of God, to return to the prayerful life. Let’s devoid ourselves of any idols that we give more preference than God.
If we do so our God will re-build our life, our family, all of our children’s concerns once again.
 3. RISE UP TO YOUR FAITH WITH PERSEVERANCE:
Then Jesus said to him, "Rise up! Pick up your mat and walk.” (John 5:8)
The Disabled Man at the pool in Bethesda: ‘House of mercy’ is the meaning of the word ‘Bethesda. He stayed in the seat of mercy, yet was not able to receive mercy.
Likewise, we may experience situations where we reside in the mercy seat., (i.e.) In places where good things happen around us but we don’t receive any, though we follow all the laws of the Bible. In those situations, we have to stand firmly with faith and touch God with zeal, like the Women with issue of blood.
She Persevered with Faith, touched Jesus & was healed. But the man with an infirmity did not receive healing for 38 yrs, because he might have accused those around. Him, blaming others. So our Lord says “Rise up take your bed (bed in which he might have gossiped) & walk”.
Therefore, we are called to rise from where we are now. Let’s Rise towards the divine healing both Physical & Spiritual Healing. When we do so, the Son of righteousness will Rise up with Healing in His wings & grant divine healing on all fronts.

4. RISE TO YOUR PRAYER LIFE:
“The angel struck Peter on the side and woke him & said “Rise up!” (Acts 12:7)
King Herod killed James & when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also and imprisoned him. Only then the Acts Church woke up. Prior to this, no prayer warrior had the burden to pray for James. So too, today many servants of God and missionaries, are dying, with no one to pray for them.
The church which thus far was sleeping began to pray with concern that Peter also should not be lost. Thus for want of prayer let us not lose, neither a single servant of God nor a believer. Today, many movements alike Herod have risen against Christianity. We are called to Rise up, pray and safeguard the servants God.
Their prayer sent an angel and broke the chains that bound Peter. Similarly, today many are caught in many bounds and prisons. If we Rise & stand in the gap for ministers of God, He will even send His angels to fight the battle and to break all bondages.

TO CONCLUDE
Physical & Spiritual sleep both are distressing. May each of us Resolve to Rise up and Realize the danger of not Waking Up. Let us determine to stand with God to shake the nation.

Your Identity in Christ                                    God's Love -...
