The New Man

God made us New creation in Christ.  We are going to see how God created us when we born again.

II Cor 5:17 says Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
  • We are in Christ joined to him by Faith in him as Savior.
  • Old things (Previous moral and Spiritual condition) have passed away.
  • Behold, new things have come (because Spiritual awakening brings a new life).
As a New Creature, we have New Spirit and New heart. Foundationally you are already in Christ.

This New man is incorruptible - Born after Incorruptible seed

I Peter 1:23  says Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

We are born by the word of God which liveth and abideth for ever.
As Jesus said, Heaven and Earth will pass away, but these words will never pass away. Let this truth get deep inside of us.

In Ephesians 1:13, Paul says when we heard the word of truth and repented, there is great joy in Heaven. Trinity is involved in our new birth. Father enforces his word, we believe in Jesus' Finished work and we are sealed with Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13 says In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

This brings great joy in Heaven. Jesus is the Firstborn among many brethren. We become the same kind as Jesus is. He enjoyed wonderful fellowship with the Father in his earthly walk, in the same way we have the privilege now to enjoy this Father relationship.

Practice/Behavior comes after position. Our mind comes in the way most of the times. We don't need to judge our-self/others based on actions. Mind needs to be renewed/transformed according to the word.

When you acknowledge who you are, you act in the way, you can do who you are! You are already more than conquerors!

Enemy comes with compromising your identity. Stand Strong in your identity!
You have the authority now to dismiss the trouble, Words from your mouth is the weapon!

Talk as you walk by Charu Peterson

Talk as you walk

                                                                               by Charu Peterson

  • Walking is light and easy exercise most of us love to do by ourselves or with someone we love.
  • The Bible talks about ‘walking’ in Micah 6:8, saying “No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
  • Through Jesus, this was made possible for us. We may stumble here on earth but one day we will walk with him in heaven dressed in white.

  • The Bible gives example of two people who walked humbly with God: Noah and Enoch.

Genesis 6:9 says, “Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God.”

Genesis 5:24 says, “walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.”

  • Noah and Enoch lived in times much like ours.. that was filled with corruption and evil. Yet they remained righteous and blameless in their thoughts, words, and deeds.

  • Prophet Amos reveals an important truth about what it means to walk with God when he asked, “can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” (Amos 3:3). The key word here is "together", which gives the idea of two people moving in rhythm, like riding a tandem bicycle. But it is not about getting God into rhythm with us; it is getting ourselves into rhythm with Him. That is what it means to walk with God.

  • This is what Noah and Enoch did. They were not only walking with God but they were also in communion with God.

  • Walking with God also requires us to walk in step with the Holy Spirit.

  • The Bible talks about John the Baptist, who baptized people with water, which was symbolic to how Jesus would baptize us through Holy Spirit. In Matthew 3:16, we read that the Holy Spirit descends on Jesus after he was baptized in water.

  • The important thing to note is that: Jesus did not need to be baptized because He was already filled with the Spirit. But He did it for us. Likewise, Jesus did not need to die on the cross because He was sinless but again HE did it for us. As a result, we are able to ‘walk in step with the Holy Spirit’.

  • What does it mean to walk in step with the Spirit?
    • Get refined in the fire. John says in Matt 3:11, “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” Spirit brings power n purity, which eliminates fear from judgment.
    • Be filled with peace. Matt 3:16, “The Spirit of God descended like a dove”. The dove here represents peace.
    • Be assured of your adoption. Matt 3:17, “This is my Son.” The Holy Spirit assures that we are all sons and daughters of God because of what Jesus has done.
    • Know that you are loved by God. In Romans 5:5, Paul says, He was given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.” Matt 3:17 continues to say, “whom I love”.
    • Feel His pleasure. Matt 3:17 continues to say, “With him I am well Pleased”. When we walk in step with spirit, we too can experience the sense of God’s pleasure.
